Bio.
As a second-generation Chinese-Filipino daughter, I was taught to be grateful for my family’s sacrifices that got us to America. I was told to steep my tea in gratitude every morning, to be grateful for the hardships I did not have to survive. To show my gratitude with my silence. It wasn’t until my university days, with my failing physical health and mental issues, that I realized the true cost of holding in my “hurt”. Any tea steeped too long turns to bitterness.
I learned that my body was asking me to listen. And now, I help others by facilitating the natural healing process within each of us, to our own inner wisdom, to ZENZI.
Nowadays, I enjoy living slowly and purposefully. I am a lifelong learner and practicer of medicine, and am constantly humbled and grateful for this path. I enjoy being an amateur birder and practicing traditional gongfu tea ceremony. I’m often snuggling on the couch with my orange cat or spending quality time with loved ones.
Education.
Having a holistic approach to my own healing has made the world of a difference, which is why I find it SO important to offer my patients the best holistic and individualized care as well. My three pillars of treament are acupuncture, herbs, and energetics, which has carried me forward into offering my patients integrative acupuncture, somatic energetics, and holistic living practices that they can then carry forward into their own healing.
Some of my specific areas of study have been: Japanese meridian therapy, orthopedic (motor point) needling, Five element acupuncture, scalp (YNSA) and auricular acupuncture, cosmetic acupuncture, Tao of Trauma/somatic energetics, Chi nei tsang, bodywork (including cupping and guasha), herbal remedies, and holistic living practices,
I did my B.S in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science with an emphasis on Development and Aging at the University of Arizona. I then received my Masters and Doctorate degree from Pacific College of Health and Sciences in San Diego.
Some of the various things I have worked with are: supportive diagnosis care, headaches and migraine, allergies, acute and chronic pain, sprains, lyme disease, chronic fatigue, hashimoto’s, celiac disease, crohn’s disease, gastroenteritis, stress, anxiety and depression, tremors, addiction, c-PTSD, musculoskeletal pain, PMS, PMDD, menopause, insomnia, diabetic neuropathy, weight loss and management, tinnitus, grief and loss, anger management.
